Paris Hilton Keeps Her Word On Charity

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, Gossip,

Paris Hilton seems to be holding true to promises she made during and just after her incarceration. The heiress made an appearance at charity auction over the weekend to help raise funds. Or, at least, to be seen. The Life Rolls On event was complete with an auction, where Hilton won a $17,500 surfing lesson with Billauer and Adam Sandler. At the event, Hilton told reporters that she was focused on her next movie – a “surprise.” Paris further said she’d start shooting next month on the flick. Hilton has also recently visited a children’s hospital in an effort to continue with her charitable dedication.

MADD Not Quite Ready to Work with Paris

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Gossip,

Paris Hilton may have spoken out of turn when she talked about her desires to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving during a Larry King interview on CNN last week. The organization that united against alcohol abuse may not want Miss Hilton on their team. MADD spokeswoman Misty Moyse said the non-profit group still has doubts about Paris’s behavior, and further said no one involved with Hilton has made any attempt to contact MADD about her desired involvement. MADD was founded in 1980 by the mother of a 13-year-old killed by a repeat-offender drunk driver, and had worked with a bevy of celebs in the past.

Paris Not an Humanitarian Just Yet

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, CBS, Talent, Gossip, News,

Paris Hilton Paris Hilton has told all and sundry that she’s going to improve her life and do great things for the world…but not before she gets some vacay time. The heiress landed in Maui yesterday afternoon, wearing a terribly ill-fitting black wig and designer sunglasses as a “disguise” that really didn’t work at all. Following her well-watched interview with Larry King, the interviewer told E’s that Paris’s answers were too short, and Paris’s answer to his Bible question made him doubt Miss Hilton has read the tome at all, though she says it was one of her favorite jail pass-times. King also said he doesn’t believe Paris never experimented with drugs. More than three million tuned in to see Paris on Larry King’s show, big ratings for CNN. Missed it the first time? CNN will re-broadcast the Hilton interview today.

Gotta Love Anderson Cooper

Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Prime Time, Cable,

Anderson CooperDid you hear that 3.2 million viewers tuned in to watch the Larry King interview with Paris Hilton? Sadly, I was one of those 3.2 million (and I am in no way proud of that). OK, so I was reading at the same time, so the interview didn’t have my undivided attention. Nor should it. I’m surprised that they could even stretch an hour out of the whole thing. Seems there wasn’t much to say, but I did like how Larry asked her what her favorite bible passage was and she said she didn’t have a favorite. Classic. Anyway, onto Anderson Cooper, with his 360 following the interview. Poor Cooper was forced to dissect the interview with a panel of experts and it was obviously painful for him. I think it was more worthwhile to tune into Cooper’s uncomfortable play-by-play than to watch the actual interview itself. The story seemed to be of little importance to him, but he had to begin with this disclaimer, “We can’t be above the news of the moment.” From that intro, you knew he wasn’t going to have his heart in the game. At one point he commented, “Well, you know, I know, I don’t really, I don’t understand her. I don’t understand her appeal, I don’t understand what she’s done.” Classic. I’ve been a big fan of Anderson since his days of hosting the reality show The Mole. Ah, dry wit. How I love thee.

Paris Chats with Larry King

Paris Hilton  In her first public appearance since being released from jail, multi-millionaire heiress sat down in an intimate setting with Larry King, lots of TV cameras, and a live studio audience to discuss her changed outlook on life and how she’s adapting to freedom once more. She was expecting to be sentenced to community service, not jail, the day she walked into court to receive her sentencing for probation violations. Paris, clad in white, told King that she went through a really traumatic experience, and that she suffered from nightmares while incarcerated. King asked Hilton about the mysterious “medical condition” that led to her one-day respite from jail. Paris explained that she’s claustrophobic, and has been taking medication for attention deficit disorder since the age of 12. She further explained that she suffered severe panic attacks while in her cell, and the house-arrest idea was all a doctor’s recommendation.

Paris’s Phone Call To Ryan Seacrest

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Talent, Gossip, News,

Paris HiltonEven from her lonely jail cell, knows how to work the media – and she isn’t going to let anything as inconvenient as incarceration keep her name out of the papers and her face out of the spotlight. Recently, the imprisoned hotel heiress called on the phone. Though Seacrest is best known for his role as the host of FOX’s American Idol, in this particular capacity he was working for E!.

There are few who missed scenes of crying, screaming Paris being taken back to jail after she was released by the Sheriff’s office. She isn’t doing so much screaming these days, and told Seacrest she is doing better than when she first arrived. It would be hard for her to do any worse. Paris further said that she’s going to grow from this experience and finds herself with a lot of time, away from the paparazzi and her normal life. Fan letters have been pouring into the jail, and Paris says they’ve made her think about things she never considered before. She also says she’s realized the media used to make fun of her (used to?) – and she’s sick of it, wants to use her fame in a “good way.”

Paris also said she is getting more used to the cramped quarters of her cell (which contains a bunk bed, toilet, and desk), but is still having trouble sleeping at night. The other inmates have all been very kind to her and supportive, and Paris and they talk through their cells to each other often. During her incarceration, Paris has received mountains of fan mail, which she is allowed to read ten letters at a time.  The heiress will be released from her imprisonment in just a few more days.

A Screaming Paris Is Sent Back to Jail

Paris Hilton Jail

For the record:  I really do hate doing stories on ...but having initially reported on her early release, I feel obligated to report on the ever-changing updates.  That, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the pictures of her crying today.

With only a comfortable 24 hours at home, Paris Hilton was sent screaming from court this morning as she was ordered back into jail.  Angered that Hilton had been transferred out of the facility, Judge Michael Sauer demanded that she reappear in court today.  Unlike her original trip to jail, Paris’ ride to the courthouse consisted of a comfy backseat in a police vehicle.

It is still not known what medical problems prompted her early release, but Sauer ordered that Paris serve out the rest of her 45-day sentence in lock-up.  More news likely to come…

Paris Hilton is a Prisoner

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Talent, Gossip,

Paris Hilton It’s official: has now spent her first full day behind bars. The heiress was sentenced to jail time because of probation violations, though her original 45-day sentence was scaled back to 23 days in the slammer. Paris Hilton’s attorney, Richard A. Hutton, says the heiress is “doing well” in spite of her current incarceration.  He also went on to say that Hilton will use her jail time as a period of reflection to see how she can make the world better. If Paris really wanted to make the world better, she could make herself a positive role model for the young girls who worship her, and keep herself out of both jail and trouble…and skeezy outfits. Paris, accompanied by sister Nicky and mom Kathy, was taken to Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A. at 11:15 pm in an attempt to foil the press and paparazzi who were just hoping to get a glimpse of the hotel heiress before she disappeared inside the building. Hilton was transported from the men’s jail sixteen miles to her new cell, where she will make a home for herself for the next three weeks. Sheriff spokesman Steve Whitmore called Hilton “cooperative and focused” and said there will be no further comments on the heiress until after she is released.

The Battle of the Heiresses

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Gossip, News,

Paris HiltonDiamond heiress Zeta Graff filed a suit against hotel chain heiress Paris Hilton back in July 2005, and the $10 million slander trial was supposed to start this month. Hilton’s claim that she is “emotionally distraught and traumatized” after receiving a court ruling that will send her to jail isn’t going over well with Graff. The slander trial has been postponed to August, and Graff thinks it’s too long to wait in light of the fact that Hilton has been seen participating in the hot LA club scene - even as recently as this past weekend. After hearing from psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy, who said that Paris was too upset to work on a defense against the slander proceedings, managed to put off the trial (originally scheduled to begin May 21) until August 22, after Hilton is released from jail.  The trial stems from a gossipy news item that surfaced in the Post years ago.
